Once again in these challenging times for Fort McMurray residents and businesses, Canada Post is working hard to keep you connected. The flooding has had an impact on one of our delivery facilities and we are working hard on getting an alternate facility up and running.
We have resumed limited delivery to areas not affected by the flooding. Where it is safe to do so, we are also doing our best to serve the affected lowertown area. We have made extra efforts to deliver socio-economic cheques, but if you have not received yours it is available for pickup at the postal outlet in Thickwood at 190-121 Signal Road.
For residents and businesses displaced because of the flooding, take advantage of the free offering (until May 31) for 12 months of our Mail Forwarding Service to serve you better. Visit the website to register where a credit card is required to authenticate the transaction. You have to cancel the service online when you return to your residence or business place.
With three of the five postal offices serving Fort McMurray affected by the flooding, parcel pickup has been temporarily diverted to two postal outlets: 190-121 Signal Road and 103-112 Riverstone Ridge. To help us serve as many customers as possible, we ask that you check the delivery notice card for the address of the post office to collect your item. Please pick up your delivery as soon as possible. We also ask that you respect all physical distancing measures at the post office and remember to bring valid government-issued photo identification to collect your mail.
We assess the situation daily and make plans to serve you as conveniently as possible. Where we cannot make deliveries, we have secured mail and parcels at one of our facilities.
We will update the Closures and service interruptions webpage as more information becomes available. If you have questions regarding your mail, please contact us.
