Equity, diversity and inclusion

Creating welcoming spaces for everyone

We value diversity as an essential part of who we are as a company, how we operate and how we see our future. We believe that attracting, developing, and retaining people who reflect the diversity of Canada is essential to our success because this matters to all communities and customers we serve.

A positive force for change

Northern and Indigenous reconciliation

We’re taking concrete action for reconciliation and strengthening our relationships with Indigenous and northern communities by improving services, supporting Indigenous recruitment and retention, purchasing from Indigenous-owned businesses and more.

Zero tolerance for racism and discrimination

We condemn all forms of discrimination. With a diverse workforce, we are committed to fostering an inclusive environment where employees, contractors and customers are safe and free from racism, discrimination and harassment of any kind.

Embracing and celebrating all people

Our vision is to reflect Canada’s diversity and provide a safe, welcoming workplace where everyone feels valued, respected and able to achieve their full potential.

Here are a few examples of how Canada Post’s company culture embraces the principles and spirit of equity, diversity and inclusion:

  • We formed a Joint National Equity and Diversity Committee with our bargaining agents and created an action plan to address barriers and set goals to advance our vision for positive change.
  • Our Employee Resource Groups are safe spaces for employees to discuss topics that are important to them based on diverse lived experiences.
  • We are committed to increasing representation for historically underrepresented groups and regularly assessing our progress.
  • We value employee feedback and promote equity and inclusion through our internal newsletter to raise awareness of ongoing issues in our communities.
