Import restrictions
All items require an import permit, except:
- alcohol
- brides' trousseaux
- goods imported by the diplomatic and consular corps
- non-commercial items to a value of $40CDN
- original works of art imported by their author
- personal effects, clothing and objects
- provisions for a journey
- red Cross merchandise
- returned merchandise of Cambodian origin, provided it has not been altered in any way
- samples
- school outfits
- traveller's requisites.
Prohibited items
In addition to items considered non-mailable matter, the following are prohibited:
- acids/batteries
- animals
- bank notes / travelling cheques
- graphite products
- infectious substances
- jewellery
- log and timber products from Liberia (wood-chips, poles, post, fence pickets, sheets, flooring, molding, pallet, tool handles, barrels, crates, tableware/kitchenware, shutters, blinds, cases/boxes/chests for jewellery and silverware, clothes hangers, clothespins, toothpicks, etc.)
- narcotics/drugs
- passports
- precious stones
- tobacco.

The Ministry of Commerce of Cambodia issues all import permits.
The following is a list of documents required when importing into Cambodia:
- Commercial Invoice
- Pro forma Invoice
- Import Declaration Form
Custom Procedures:
The owner/representative opens the parcel in front of both customs and postal officers for custom officials to verify. If the customs value is less than 300USD, the declarant has to submit a Simplified Customs Declaration (Customs Declaration Form for non-commercial goods). If the value is greater than 300 USD, a Detailed Customs Declaration Form (SAD) is required.
If parcels have no commercial value and is a gift, document etc, the parcel will be treated as a normal postal item and will be released to the receivers address without customs duties or taxes.
