Closures and service interruptions

As Canada excitedly prepares to co-host the FIFA World Cup 2026™ in Vancouver and Toronto, Canada Post wants customers to be aware of minor service interruptions as the host cities safely welcome fans from around the world.

From June 11 to July 19 – during the FIFA Fan Festival™ and seven match days in Vancouver – minor service interruptions will occur to several street letter mailboxes in close proximity to the FIFA Fan Festival™ at the PNE Grounds at Hastings Park, and for matches at Vancouver Stadium at BC Place.

The FIFA Fan Festival™ will run from June 11 to July 19, beginning as early as 8 am and ending as late as midnight.

The match days and start times are:

• Saturday, June 13 – 9 pm (Australia vs. Türkiye) *no mail delivery on Saturdays*
• Thursday, June 18 – 3 pm (Canada vs. Qatar)
• Sunday, June 21 – 6 pm (New Zealand vs. Egypt) *no mail delivery on Sundays*
• Wednesday, June 24 – 12 pm (Canada vs. Switzerland)
• Friday, June 26 – 8 pm (New Zealand vs. Belgium)
• Thursday, July 2 – 8 pm (Round of 32)
• Tuesday, July 7 – 1 pm (Round of 16)

Street letter boxes – minor interruptions

The following street letter mailboxes in close proximity to the FIFA Fan Festival™ and Vancouver Stadium will be cleared and sealed before all match days – including Saturday and Sunday – and made accessible again to deposit mail the following business day:

• From June 11 to July 19, including match days: Cooperage Way and Smithe Street
• On match days:
• Near intersection of East Pender Street and Main Street
• 118 Robson Street
• 840 Cambie Street
• 555 Abbott Street
• Relocated: The street letter mailbox located at 1105 Granville Street will be moved to the southwest corner on Helmcken Street.

No interruption to mail delivery, postal services or commercial customer pickups

We do not anticipate any service interruptions for mail delivery to customers with postal codes that begin with V6A, V6B and V6Z. Services to commercial customers in the vicinity of the event locations will not be affected. The four post offices near the event locations will be operating as usual:

• 710 Granville Street (new)
• 238 Robson Street
• 1173 - 88 West Pender Street
• 495 West Georgia Street
